The M.P. Institute of Social Science Research (MPISSR) is an autonomous, multidisciplinary Centre for research and training located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The institute was established in 1983 and came under umbrella of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi and Ministry of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1993-94.<\/p>

Research activities of MPISSR are concerned with issues relating to social, economic, educational, political, cultural, administrative and civic aspects of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining states. MPISSR has been working broad theme on Panchayati Raj and Rural Development; Education; Gender; Caste and Tribe; Development and Deprivation; Social Justice; Information Technology ; Society and Environment since last two decades. MPISSR was founded by the eminent political scientist Prof. R.S Gautam.
